As a make-up lover I’m constantly on the hunt for a “Holy Grail Product”. I’ve tried many different foundations and have tossed away many based on various reasons. My complexion by MAC standards is NC45. All of these products have been tried and true and are perfect for my acne prone, combination skin. Let’s dive into my favorites!
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless: I can not say enough great things about this product! The coverage and the finish is not as Matte which is ok to me! It dries demi-matte but I love the slight glow it gives. The product is about $6 and can be found at various drugstores
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: This little guy packs a big punch! Primers are a completely necessity when wearing foundation. It makes the application smoother and depending on what finish you get, it can blur out pores, make any foundation matte, etc. Primer is a key step for me because I want my foundation to last as long as it can with minimum oil. This primer does exactly what it says and whenever I use it, my skin is near perfect in selfies. I mainly use it in my T-zone, focusing it around my nose because I have the largest pores there. I received this sample size in an IPSY Glam bag but I will be purchasing the full size at Sephora for $36.
Sacha Buttercup Powder: I like to call this a “Banana Powder for brown girls”. I use this to set the highlighted areas of my face such as under the eyes, middle of forehead and chin. This setting powder is finely milled and is more yellow in tone. This is #browngirlfriendly because it does not leave a white cast in photos. Girl, not cute. This can be purchased at Sacha’s website for $20.
NYX Concealer Palette in Deep: Ugh, can’t get any better than this! This palette includes six different shades to either correct, conceal or contour the skin. I use the middle shade on left to clean up my brows and the orange shade to correct dark spots. This retails for about $12 and I purchased mine at Ulta.
MAC Prep + Prime Fix+: Go. Buy. This. I use this multi purpose spray to emphasize glittery shadows, tone down an overly powdered face and as a moisturizer before make-up application. This can be purchased at any MAC counter or store for $22. It is even worth it to buy the travel size for $10.
